iOS calorie and macro tracker
Summary
iSacred Cal is a calorie and macro tracker. Most data — your meals, weight, goals, and history — stays on your iPhone. The only things that can leave your device are a meal photo you choose to send to our AI vision service and typed meal details you provide to correct a scan, and only if you have turned AI Meal Scan on after seeing the in-app consent screen.
We do not sell personal information. We do not run third-party analytics SDKs. We do not use Apple Health data, meal photos, or typed meal details for unrelated advertising.
1. What we collect locally
- Meals you log, including food names, servings, calories, macros, notes, and photos you attach manually.
- Daily calorie and macro goals.
- Profile basics for goal setup, such as optional name, age, biological sex, height, weight, activity level, goal type, and goal speed.
- Streaks, badges, weight log, and workout log.
- Apple Health imports, only if you enable Health sync.
This information is stored using standard iOS storage on your device. iSacred Cal does not require an account to use the app, and your logged meals and history are not uploaded to our servers.
2. Apple Health (HealthKit)
Apple Health sync is off by default. If you turn it on from Profile, iSacred Cal asks iOS for read-only access to:
- Workouts
- Active Energy during workouts
- Step Count
- Body Mass
We do not write data to Apple Health. HealthKit data is read locally on your device, is never uploaded to our servers, is never shared with any third party, is never sold, and is never used for advertising or marketing. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → iSacred Cal.
3. AI Meal Scan and meal correction
AI Meal Scan is off by default. If you turn it on by accepting the in-app consent screen, iSacred Cal may process meal photos and typed meal details to estimate nutrition.
When you use AI meal scanning or meal correction, the app may send your meal photo and any typed meal details you provide, such as ingredients, portions, or preparation notes, to our backend and AI service providers so the app can estimate calories, macros, and micronutrients.
What is sent
- The meal photo you choose to scan, such as a JPEG image.
- Typed meal details you enter to correct ingredients, portions, sauces, oils, brands, or preparation notes.
- A timestamp and an app version identifier.
What is not sent
- Your name, email, contacts, or location.
- Your weight, calorie history, saved meals, or full meal log.
- Apple Health data.
- Other personal information that is not needed for the scan or correction.
Who receives it
- The meal photo and typed meal details are sent over HTTPS to the iSacred Cal backend.
- The backend forwards them to a third-party AI vision provider, currently OpenAI, to identify foods and estimate calories, protein, carbs, fat, and micronutrients.
How it is used
- Meal photos and typed meal details are used only to provide nutrition estimates, improve scan accuracy for the current request, and return editable food entries in the app.
- They are not sold, not used for unrelated advertising, and not used to train any AI model.
- Nutrition results are estimates, not medical advice. You can edit every value before saving.
Your control
- You can decline AI Meal Scan and still use manual meal logging, history, goals, dashboard, weight, workouts, badges, streaks, and Apple Health sync.
- You can turn AI Meal Scan back off at any time in Profile → AI Settings. When off, no meal photo or typed meal details are sent for AI scanning.
4. What we do not collect
- Contacts
- Precise or coarse location
- Microphone audio
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Browsing or web history
- Third-party social-graph data
We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs and we do not sell personal information.
5. Children
iSacred Cal is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, email us at the address below and we will delete any associated request logs.
6. Health information disclaimer
iSacred Cal provides general nutrition tracking and is not a medical device. The app does not provide medical, dietetic, or psychological advice. Calorie targets use the Mifflin-St Jeor BMR equation with standard activity multipliers and safety caps. Macro splits use standard public-health ranges.
Trusted sources referenced in the app include the CDC, NIH, MedlinePlus, Mayo Clinic, and WHO. Always consult a qualified clinician before making health decisions.

8. Security

- Network requests to the iSacred Cal backend and AI vision provider are sent over HTTPS.
- API keys for third-party AI providers are held on our backend, not in the iOS app.
